When you say don't work, is it because of your TV not being able to run in 60htz or just the wads black screen? As with any mod, it does carry risks, but I haven't heard of anyone making a Wii brick in a long time.
Region free.wad's are probably better for you, unless your comfortable with installing priiloader. Sing out if you need help getting them to work and I can point you in the right direction. You either need to use or make the.wad region free, or set your wii channels to system free via priiloader or similar.
